SUBJECT: Resources amid recent events
Hi all,
On behalf of GASP, I wanted to shed some more light on everything that
has been going on over the past week. The tragic sequence of events that
have recently unfolded represents a larger, more systemic problem with a
long history and can feel discouraging, heartbreaking, and frustrating,
among other things. It is sad to say that in 2020 the color line still
divides us, but it is never too late to change that.
So how can we do that? How can we use our voice to fight inequality? In
agreement with many, _knowledge is power _and therefore, it all starts
by educating ourselves on current affairs.
With all the information available on the web and social media, it can
be overwhelming to navigate. With the generous help of the other GASP
exec members, we compiled a list of important resources to share with
you all that may help you better understand what is going on and what
you can do to help others as well as yourselves (see below).
Again, these are just a few resources that many have been educating
themselves with and we know there are so many more. If you have anything
you would like for us to share, you can always email me
(erika.gentile(a)mail.mcgill.ca) and I will gladly send it around as we
strongly believe that it is important that we show our solidarity during
this and use this platform to help create positive change.
Stay safe and well,
Erika
