Hi Everyone,
We hope you're all doing well and enjoying the (mostly) lovely weather!
We, at CRAM, are excited to start a new series of virtual gatherings during which we listen to a great academic talk on cognitive science/ a related field, followed by some time for discussion. We picked our favourite recorded conference talks (and a few TED talks) from the past few years. We thought this would be a great way of bringing people together, while eliminating the stress of preparing slides/doing readings.
The talks will be screened fortnightly on Wednesdays from 3-4pm. The planned schedule:
June 3rd Dr. Matthew Walker - Sleep is your Superpower (2019)
June 17th Dr. Lera Boroditsky - Building Complex Knowledge with Language and Imagination (2018)
July 8th Dr. Anil Seth - Your brain hallucinates your conscious reality (2017)
July 22nd Dr. Danielle Bassett - Role of modularity in brain flexibility and learning (2017)
Aug 5th Dr. Daphna Shohamy - What We Talk About When We Talk About Conscious Memories (2020)
Aug 19th Dr. Daniel Gilbert - Prisoners of now ((2019)
We will share the zoom meeting link soon - we look forward to listening to and discussing these talks with you!
Sincerely, The CRAM Team
P.S.: Our first round of invitations for DIY talks didn't receive as much interest as we hoped. However, if anyone is keen to present anytime during the summer feel free to let us know.
