*Imaging-based neurosignatures of pain*
Professor Mathieu Roy, Department of Psychology, McGill University
Pain is a complex sensory and emotional experience generated by cohesive patterns of neuronal activity distributed across vast regions of the brain. In this presentation, I will present results from recent brain imaging studies using machine-learning to identify multivariate “signature” patterns for pain, and will discuss how these signature patterns can be modified by interventions that influence pain perception, such as self-regulation, expectations, emotions, or analgesic drugs.
