Dear All,
As a reminder, and as most of you know, McGill’s Department of Psychology hosts an annual lecture named after Dalbir Bindra (1922 – ‘80), a former chair of the department and one of the most influential psychologists of his generation. For many people, he is perhaps best known for marshalling the key arguments that shifted most research about goal-directed behaviors away from physiological need-based drive reduction models toward the incentive motivation views that continues to influence most research in this area today.
This year’s speaker will be Professor Peter Shizgal. He will give an informal seminar tomorrow morning at 10:00 am in the Stewart Biology Building (S3/4) and the more formal Bindra lecture at 3:30 pm in the McIntyre Building’s Palmer auditorium (McMed 522).
More details are in the attached.
Best wishes,
Marco
