Tenure Track (Assistant or Associate Professor Rank)
Clinical Psychology
The Department of Psychology at the University of North Texas (UNT)
invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions. We seek an
Assistant Professor (1 position) and an Assistant/Associate Professor (1
position) to join the core faculty of the APA-accredited doctoral (PhD)
program in Clinical Psychology, which has been continuously accredited
for more than 40 years. Successful applicants must evidence an active
and potentially externally fundable program of research (area of focus
is open).
The University of North Texas is a Carnegie-designated Tier One research
university. UNT is located within the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, which
is the most populous metropolitan area for both Texas and the South, and
the fourth-largest metropolitan area in the U.S. As the largest
university in the metroplex, the flagship Denton campus educates over
38,000 students and more than 7,700 graduate students. The main campus
is linked with the UNT Health Sciences Center via federal grants,
research collaborations, and student practicum placements. Collaboration
opportunities with other major universities in the area are also
possible. North Texas VA Health Care System, which is home to the
largest mental health service in the nation, is also nearby and a
longstanding close collaborator. With 105 Bachelor’s, 88 Master’s, and
37 Doctoral programs, UNT offers great opportunities for
interdisciplinary and collaborative research. The department is home to
~25 FTE faculty and two other doctoral programs, in addition to a large
undergraduate program with more than 1300 students. Candidates with
collaborative potential with faculty associated with the department’s
other doctoral programs in Behavioral Sciences and/or Counseling
Psychology are encouraged to apply.
Substantial proportions of our majors (approximately 50%) and graduate
students (approximately 30%) are from diverse racial/ethnic backgrounds
and UNT is imminently projected to become recognized as a Hispanic
Serving Institution. A documented commitment to and engagement with
diversity in all its forms is expected. Current faculty evidence their
commitment to diversity across their areas of research. To learn more
about the programs’ commitment to diversity and program more generally,

Hi Everyone -- just sharing an announcement for a new faculty search in
the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill. We are seeking an individual who can contribute
to our ongoing work in data sciences and computational neuroscience,
broadly defined. Details are below.
Thanks -- patrick
-------------------------
The Department of Psychology & Neuroscience at the University of North
Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill invites applications for a tenure-track
position at the Assistant Professor level, to begin July 2020. The
research focus of a successful candidate will be in the area of data
neuroscience/computational neuroscience. We are particularly interested
in individuals employing computational approaches to study neuronal
networks by applying sophisticated statistical and theoretical tools to
large datasets generated by cutting-edge technologies such as fMRI, EEG,
ERP, calcium imaging, optogenetics, and electrophysiology. Candidates
should have an excellent record of research productivity, the potential
to develop an independent and internationally recognized research
program, and a commitment to teaching at the graduate and undergraduate
levels. Having active grant funding and/or a successful history of grant
support is desirable. Programs in Psychology & Neuroscience, which
include Behavioral & Integrative Neuroscience, Clinical, Cognitive,
Developmental, Quantitative, and Social Psychology, have research
programs that would integrate well with such a candidate, opening the
door for new and exciting collaborations across the Department. The
Department of Psychology & Neuroscience at UNC Chapel Hill is committed
to creating and maintaining an inclusive environment that supports
students and faculty from diverse backgrounds. We are interested in
candidates that will contribute to the University’s diversity and
inclusion mission through research, teaching, and service. To apply use
the electronic submission website at
https://unc.peopleadmin.com/postings/169373 and submit the following
electronic materials: cover letter, curriculum vitae, research
statement, teaching statement, and up to 5 reprints or preprints. Please
also submit email addresses of four individuals that will provide
letters of reference to this electronic submission website. The search
committee will begin reviewing applications November 1, 2019 and will
continue to review new applications until the position is filled. The
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is an equal opportunity and
affirmative action employer. All qualified applicants will receive
consideration for employment without regard to age, color, disability,
gender, gender expression, gender identity, genetic information,
national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or status as a
protected veteran.
