Research Officer
Salary £35,432 to £42,860 pa inclusive of London allowance

This is a fixed term appointment for 2 years, from 7 January 2019.

Applications are invited for a Research Officer position on the research
project Methods for the analysis of longitudinal dyadic data with an
application to intergenerational exchanges of family support, co-funded by
the ESRC and EPSRC.  You will work closely with Professor Fiona Steele (the
Principal Investigator), Professor Irini Moustaki, Dr Jouni Kuha, and the
other investigators. The Research Officer will conduct literature reviews,
contribute to methodological developments, conduct simulation studies and
data analysis, develop and document R packages, and will have the opportunity
to co-author research papers.

Candidates must have a PhD in Statistics or expect to have submitted their
PhD by the post start date, and a proven record of delivering high quality
published research, or clear demonstration of potential to do so. Experience
of Bayesian statistical modelling and MCMC methods, advanced skills in R, and
experience with Bayesian modelling software are essential for the job.
Knowledge of latent variable or random effects models and methods for the
analysis of longitudinal data is desirable. Excellent written and oral
communication skills, including an ability to place one's specialist work
within a broader context and to communicate research findings effectively to
a range of audiences are essential.
