The Department of
Psychology at The University of Texas at San Antonio invites
applications for an Assistant Professor. We are seeking a candidate
with research and teaching interests that contribute to UTSA’s
Brain Health focus. We are seeking a researcher with a strong
background in neuropsychological and bio-psychological research
interests pertaining to health, addictions, and neurological disorders.
Examples include but are not limited to cognitive neuroscience,
clinical neuropsychology related to substance use, addictions or other
neurological disorders. We are seeking successful researchers who can
contribute to our undergraduate and graduate programs and who are
interested in pursuing collaborative projects with the UTSA brain
health consortium and the unique consortium of military and
health-related organizations situated in the San Antonio community.
Successful candidates will have a research program that will have
ongoing support by external funding. Preference is for a beginning
Assistant Professor, but more senior candidates at the rank of
Associate Professor may be considered.
Responsibilities include maintaining a successful research
program, graduate and undergraduate-level instruction, and directing
doctoral students and securing extramural funding. Required
qualifications are a Ph.D. in Psychology by August 15, 2019,
potential for extramural funding, and relevant teaching experience.
Preferred
qualifications Strong
methodological skills, publications in high-impact journals, evidence
of excellence in research productivity and potential for external
funding (e.g., NIH, NSF, DoD), and experience with interdisciplinary
collaborations. We are particularly interested in applicants with
research interests that have applications in substance use, addictions,
and/or neurological disorders who can collaborate with ongoing projects
at local institutions, including the San Antonio Military Health
System, UT Health San Antonio, the Warrior Resiliency Program, the
STRONG STAR Consortium, and/or the Veterans Administration.
