Indiana University is seeking a Senior Research Statistician to conduct
analyses assessing the outcomes of multiple ongoing, large-scale,
longitudinal research projects as well as smaller-scale laboratory studies.
The duties include identifying and generating the appropriate statistical
analyses to answer complex research questions, conducting said analyses, and
interpreting results for the research team to report in peer-reviewed
publications. Experience in advanced statistical modeling, including
multilevel modeling, structural equation modeling, and developing R scripts
is required.
This individual will be an essential project member who must be able to learn
and work independently, yet collaborate effectively with co-workers. Previous

and educational psychology is desired, but not necessary. The candidate will
be expected to collaborate with the PI, postdoctoral researchers, and
graduate students in the lab.

models, structural equation models, clustering techniques, specification
curves, multiple imputation methods, etc.) to evaluate experiments and
longitudinal studies.
● Determine and recommend additional data collection and reporting
requirements to best answer research questions
● Serve as a resource to members of our research team (e.g., postdocs and
graduate students) conducting one-off analyses
Reporting results
● Produce relevant reports, charts, graphs and tables
● Summarize analysis results in written format (technical and annual
reports, conference presentations, peer-reviewed publications) for varied
audiences (e.g., lay and professionals).
● Distribute and disseminate reports to the research team
● Develop R-scripts to process large amounts of data and automatically
generate analyses
● Lead bi-weekly or monthly statistics workshops to educate the research
team of cutting edge advances in statistical analysis
Qualifications
Education and Experience

combination of education and relevant experience required.
● Ample experience with quantitative analyses.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities (required):
● Substantial experience with SPSS and the R statistical language.
● Substantial experience with multilevel modeling (ideally with experience
doing so in R).
● Substantial experience with structural equation modeling (ideally with
experience doing so in R or Mplus).
● Experience conducting power analyses and factor analyses
● Strong writing and analytical skills.
● Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
● Ability to learn new statistical methods.
Knowledge, skills and abilities (desired):
● Experience with social network analysis
● Experience with Javascript, SQL, and/or Python
