Description

The Department of Psychology at Penn State seeks a full-time Director for the Penn State Psychological Clinic (http://psych.la.psu.edu/psychological-clinic/). The Psychological Clinic is a fully licensed comprehensive outpatient community mental health center for the region, as well as the training and research site for the Ph.D. program in Clinical Psychology. The clinic is among the largest associated with a doctoral training program in the United States, providing psychological and neuropsychological assessment for adults, adolescents, and children, psychological and psychiatric outpatient treatment for adults, families, adolescents, and children, as well as school- and community-based intervention programs. The Psychological Clinic also employs 2 full-time assistant directors and several full and part time clinical and administrative staff. Penn State is an APA accredited clinical science doctoral program (APCS/PCSAS accreditation pending). The Psychological Clinic facilitates the seamless integration of research and practice in clinical training with a fully developed practice-research network for conducting clinical investigations. The Directorship is a 12 month clinical faculty appointment, with a multi-year renewable contract and the opportunity for advancement in rank (non-tenure line). Responsibilities for the position include coordination of clinical services, staff supervision, budget administration, teaching and supervising graduate students in evidence-based therapy and assessment practices, consultation with community agencies, program development, and facilitation of clinical research. The director is a fully participating member of the clinical doctoral program and university community. Candidates must have a doctorate from an APA approved program, have completed an accredited internship and be eligible for licensure in PA. Prefer at least 5 years of related experience, knowledge of HIPPA regulations and mental health law, and a strong interest in the integration of science and practice. Prior research experience is also desirable. Start date is negotiable.
