UCLA Post-doc in Psychoneuroimmunology & Depression Research
**************************************************************************************

The UCLA Laboratory for Stress Assessment and Research (PI: George Slavich) is seeking to hire a full-time post-doctoral fellow interested in studying neural, immunologic, and genomic mechanisms underlying risk for depression and related health problems in adolescence. This is an NIMH-funded position, with full salary and benefits. Responsibilities will include helping lead a multi-level fMRI study; developing and implementing fMRI tasks; scanning participants; processing and analyzing fMRI data; examining associations between neural, immunologic, genomic, and/or behavioral data; presenting at conferences; and preparing manuscripts for publication. The successful candidate will help manage the existing research protocol. She/he will also extend the study to include new tasks or approaches for understating and/or modifying risk for stress-related disorders in adolescence, based on the candidate’s interests. Necessary qualifications: expected Ph.D. in neuroscience, psychology, or related field; strong prior training in social, affective, and/or cognitive neuroscience; strong fMRI task development and programming skills; evidence of past scientific productivity and future promise; and interest in immunology and/or social genomics. The lab is based at the Cousins Center for Psychoneuroimmunology in the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior at UCLA (http://www.uclastresslab.org). Self-motivated, highly reliable, scientifically creative individuals from all backgrounds, who are looking to work in an exciting, multi-disciplinary environment, are encouraged to apply. To apply, email a single PDF to George Slavich, Ph.D. (gslavich@mednet.ucla.edu) that includes: (a) one-page (max) cover letter describing past training, current work, future goals, and the contact information for two professional references; (b) updated CV; and (c) 1-2 recent publications. Application reviews will begin immediately and should be received by 12/31/2015 to ensure full consideration.
