Post-doctoral Fellowship Position in Clinical
Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience
The Translational Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience
Lab at the University of California, Davis, is seeking
applicants for a full time post-doctoral fellow position
starting in the summer or early fall of 2015. The position
will work as part of an NIH
funded grant (PI: Tony J. Simon) to explore clinical,
cognitive, affective and neuroimaging predictors of risk for
psychosis in youth with chromosome 22q11.2 Deletion (aka
DiGeorge/Velocardiofacial) Syndrome, a neurodevelopmental
disorder producing very high
risk for schizophrenia. The post doctoral fellow will work
under the supervision of Tara Niendam, Ph.D., and Cameron
Carter, MD., and in collaboration with Dr. Simon as well as
Drs. Steve Luck and Emilio Ferrer. The successful candidate
will have an MD. or
Ph.D in clinical psychology, previous experience conducting
structured interviews with children and youth (including the
SIPS and/or KSADS), previous research experience related to
clinical and neurocognitive markers of risk in development,
and an interest
in developing an independent research career related to
elucidating predictors of clinical and functional outcome in
youth at risk for serious mental illness. Previous
experience in neuroimaging and/or EEG/ERP is considered a
strength, but is not required.
This is an ideal position for someone interested in pursuing
an academic career related to either clinical neuroscience
or basic developmental cognitive neuroscience. Opportunities
to accrue clinical hours and supervision toward licensure
will be available.
We are looking for a two-year commitment. We offer a
competitive package of salary and benefits, as well as a
career development workshop within the lab. More information
about the lab is available online at
