Postdoctoral Fellow Opening - Translational Neuroimaging
Researcher
The Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences at UCLA is
recruiting for a postdoctoral research position in Los Angeles,
CA. The
candidate will participate in a neuroimaging interventional study
on the
effects of exercise on neural circuitry in Parkinsons Disease.
The
candidate should have a Ph.D. degree in neuroscience, psychology,
biomedical engineering or related fields. Alternatively, we will
consider
M.D. candidates having completed residency training in Neurology
or
Psychiatry or prior to residency training, with a demonstrated
interest
and track record in neuroimaging research. Candidates should have
an interest in the basic mechanisms of disease pathogenesis and
interventional studies. This position does not have patient care
responsibilities.
Experience with fMRI data collection and analysis is required. The
candidate should have a solid background in the principles of MRI
and
fMRI and have had experience in clinical and translational MRI
research
and development. They will also have analytical skills in the
programming
language needed for fMRI task design (i.e. Matlab, Presentation)
and
experience with fMRI analyses software (i.e. FSL). The Fellow will
be
supervised by Dr. Sarah McEwen (UCLA) and Dr. Petzinger
(Department of
Neurology, USC) and will be responsible for MRI data acquisition,
processing, and analysis, and will contribute to the preparation
of
manuscripts.
This Fellowship offers an outstanding training environment, in
which the
successful candidate will be contributing to ground-breaking
translational research in the field of Parkinsons Disease. The
position can begin in January 2015. A 2 year commitment is
