*UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON AND CADENCE CHILD AND ADOLESCENT THERAPY*
Dr. Marsha Linehan at the Behavioral Research and Therapy Clinics (BRTC) at the University of Washington (UW) invites applications for a two-year postdoctoral fellowship to begin summer or autumn *2016. *We seek to fill a joint position with Cadence Child and Adolescent Therapy. The fellow will be appointed as a Research Associate faculty member in the Department of Psychology at the UW.
The BRTC is a clinical research and training center based at the UW. Its mission is to develop and evaluate compassionate and scientifically valid treatments for complex, severe, and difficult-to-treat mental disorders and for individuals at high risk of suicide. Additionally, the BRTC focuses on the science of dissemination and implementation of evidence-based treatments.
Cadence Child and Adolescent Therapy (CHAT) is a private clinical service organization whose mission is to use evidence-based treatments to provide the best possible care for children, adolescents and their families. CCAT provides a wide-range of CBT and DBT services for ages 2 to 25 years old and their families. They also specifically offer comprehensive DBT programming (individual therapy, multi-family skills classes, consult team meetings, phone coaching).
The fellow will receive experience and training in a range of activities which may include: conducting clinical and dissemination /implementation trials, mentoring and supervising students, managing a research and treatment training clinic, teaching seminars, clinical supervision, grant writing and participation in the development of articles for publication. Direct clinical service provision will consist of experience and training in evidence-based therapies including DBT, and may additionally encompass individual cognitive-behavioral therapies, behavioral parent training, and diagnostic evaluations (including autism). Supervision for licensure will also be provided.
Applicants must have: (a) a doctoral degree in clinical psychology by the start date; (b) a strong potential for a career in clinically relevant research; and (c) substantial experience with cognitive-behavioral therapy and familiarity with DBT.
