RESEARCH
ASSISTANT position is available in the Psychology Department
at
Northwestern University to
work on the NU site of the Brain, Motivation and Personality
Development Project (Drs. Robin Nusslock and Richard
Zinbarg, Principal Investigators at NU). The the Brain,
Motivation and Personality Development Project is a NIMH R01
funded prospective, longitudinal, two-site study (the second
site is UCLA; Drs. Michelle Craske and Susan Bookheimer,
Principal Investigators at UCLA). The project uses
functional neuroimaging to examine the cross-sectional and
longitudinal relationships between threat- and
reward-related neural circuitries and symptom dimensions of
anxiety and depression during the development transition
from adolescence to adulthood.
The Research Assistant
will be responsible for assisting with managing and
coordinating recruitment of participants, scheduling
laboratory visits, data collection and maintaining study
databases. There may also be opportunities to receive
training on the administration of and to conduct formal
assessments with participants, including diagnostic
interviews, life stress interviews and childhood trauma
interviews.
Candidates should have a
bachelorâs degress in Psychology or a related field and
related research experience. Competitive candidates will
have strong communication and interpersonal skills,
excellent organizational skills, and a proven ability to
work
independently.
