Dear colleagues,
Please see the information below describing
a post-doctoral fellowship opportunity in Toronto, Canada. The
identical information is also in the attached document. I
would be grateful if you could share this with interested
colleagues. Thanks in advance.
Women’s College Research Institute at
Women’s College Hospital invites applications for a
one-year, full-time Postdoctoral Fellowship, starting in
July or September 2016, reporting to Dr. Catherine Classen.
We are seeking a highly motivated researcher to work with
the research team to examine the treatment fidelity, process
and outcomes of an online intervention for women who are
sexually distressed due to treatment for gynecologic cancer.
The research examines the efficacy of a
professionally moderated online support group for
gynecologic cancer patients. The intervention is 12 weeks in
duration and utilizes a bulletin board format plus two chat
sessions. The study aims to recruit 520 women who are
randomly assigned to the intervention or waitlist control
conditions. We are entering the final year of recruitment. A
postdoctoral fellow is sought to assist in the development
and implementation of a rating system to assess treatment
fidelity. The Fellow will have opportunities to co-author
publications coming out of this study, to pursue his or her
own research questions related to this project, and to gain
experience in moderating online groups. The Fellow will be
funded through a grant from the Canadian Institutes of
Health Research and directly supervised by Dr. Catherine
Classen, Senior Scientist at WCRI and Professor of
Psychiatry at the University of Toronto.
