============================================ The Quantitative Methods program in the Department of Educational Psychology at The University of Texas at Austin, College of Education, is seeking applicants for an open rank position to begin in August 2018. Applicants should have a strong scholarly record in the field of psychometrics in areas such as advanced item response theory, dimensionality assessment, computer-based testing, accountability and testing, generalizability theory, equating, and program evaluation. In addition to a strong publication record, candidates are preferred who have been successful at obtaining external funding and demonstrated excellence and commitment to teaching and mentorship at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates at the associate or full professor rank are preferred although advanced assistant professors will be considered.
The person hired for the position will serve as the Director of the Center for Applied Psychometric Research and be appointed to the Pearson Endowed Professorship. The Center was created in 2009 with a generous endowment from the Pearson Foundation and is housed in the Department of Educational Psychology. The Director of the Center will be expected to conduct cutting edge statistical and psychometric research and obtain external funding to support methodological and applied psychometric research (http://www.edb.utexas.edu/UTPearson/).
The nationally ranked Department of Educational Psychology contains four program areas, including: Quantitative Methods; Human Development, Culture & Learning Sciences; Counseling Psychology; and School Psychology (both APA accredited). The broad focus of the department is scholarship related to health and learning throughout the life span. The department is committed to an inclusive and diverse working and learning environment.
The department is situated within the College of Education, which has consistently been ranked in the top 10 nationally. The college provides excellent faculty support including an Office of Educational Research Support, Instructional Innovation Support Center, and Instructional Technology Center.
