Quantitative Psychologist (Visiting Assistant Professor)
The Department of Psychology, at The Ohio State University seeks a quantitative psychologist or scholar with related training to join our nationally recognized program in quantitative psychology as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology, commencing Spring semester, January 2021. The Visiting Assistant Professor is expected to contribute to the behavioral science methodology literature as well as have the potential to make significant contributions in other substantive areas (neuroscience, cognitive, clinical, developmental, social and decision psychology, and Intellectual Developmental Disabilities). In addition, the candidate would contribute to the service mission of the quantitative psychology program by teaching required methodology and elective courses at both the graduate and the undergraduate levels. Initial appointment is for one year, with possibility of renewal for up to a total of three years.
Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. in quantitative psychology or a related field. Expertise in quantitative psychology and the ability to teach effectively at the undergraduate level, and ability to teach psychology courses is desired. The successful candidate should be a specialist in one or more of the following: statistical modeling of measurement-related research topics (e.g., factor analysis, structural equation modeling, item response theory), psychometrics and psychological testing (e.g., measurement theories and test construction, reliability and precision of measurement, types of validity, test norming, test and item bias), methods for longitudinal and time-series models (e.g., mixed models, mixture models, and dynamical system models), or Bayesian modeling. Candidates who can also enrich and contribute, through their teaching, to the diversity of our academic community are encouraged to apply.
